From Oregon State Police
Saturday afternoon shortly before 5pm Oregon State Police Troopers responded to Moolack Beach on a report of a male body on the sand, beneath a high cliff.
According to OSP Lieutenant Justin McGladrey, a male identified as Thomas Robert HERESCO, age 29, of Corvallis, was found unconscious and unresponsive on the beach adjacent to the cliff and US Highway 101 near milepost 135. Medics responded and pronounced HERESCO deceased.
Foul play is not suspected and OSP is continuing the investigation. Next of kin have been notified of Heresco’s death.
Heresco’s body was discovered by a beach walker who told News Lincoln County that he found the body lying face down in the sand and that there were no footprints or any disturbed sand around it. He said it appeared that the male, dressed in a dark navy hoodie, jeans and vans shoes had tumbled off the cliff. The beach walker said it appeared to him that the man had been lying there for some time. On the phone to 9-1-1 the dispatcher suggested he perform CPR but he said it was obvious that it would do no good. Arriving paramedics agreed with him. They declared him deceased.
