The National Weather Service reminds everyone that a hurricane is passing us to the northwest, churning gusty winds and high seas – producing 15 foot swells offshore and treacherous shore break on our beaches.

These conditions are expected to last into Sunday morning before they start to abate. Beach go’ers are reminded that the southwest swells are breaking onshore and across jettys at an odd angle for Central Oregon beaches and that beach erosion may fool locals, especially.

As always, an angry sea is always best admired from a respectful distance.
