New hospital for Lincoln City and north county starts with golf benefit scramble this sunday for Early Learning Center at Salishan
The North Lincoln Hospital Foundation is holding their 20th Annual Charity Golf Scramble this Sunday at Salishan Spa and Golf Resort. The main event is the golf tournament that begins just before noon, so if you want to sign up, you better get there a little early. This year’s golf scramble is to benefit the Samaritan Child Early Learning Center.
But the big announcement during the dinner later on will outline the North Lincoln Hospital Foundation’s progress at formulating a plan for a brand new hospital based in Lincoln City. Newport area voters earlier this year approved a new hospital for the south end of the county based on structural deficiencies the current hospital would succumb to in a large Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. The same can be said for the North Lincoln Hospital. It needs to be replaced.
Those who attend the dinner will be privy to the progress made so far on a conceptual outline and an eventual request for proposals. The new hospital is said to be several years out, but time flies when you’re working hard on such a large project that benefits so many north county residents.
The event is still welcoming sponsors and golf scramble registrations, as well as for attending the evening dinner, which as they said, will be “extremely interesting.” For sponsorships, the scramble and dinner, contact Leslie James at 541-557-6434 or 541-996-7102 – or by email at LEJames@SamHealth.org
