Recall campaign against lawmakers who supported private gun transactions fails
When the Oregon Legislature recently passed a law requiring background checks for private gun transactions, pro gun rights supporters rose up and launched re-call petitions against four of the primary backers of the bill.
One by one all four recall petitions fell by the wayside as petitioners failed to get enough voters to sign their petitions. On Friday, the recall movement came to a halt, as a removal from office campaign in the Eugene area fizzled. They came close, but not close enough.
