INHOUSE Jazz Completes Another Season
INHOUSE Jazz will wrap up another successful season of spring and summer house concerts Sunday afternoon Sept 13 in Seal Rock. This finale concert will feature young up and coming jazz vocalist Halie Loren. “With a gift for discovering the playfulness, pizazz and sensuality inherent in a lyric, Loren sings with a purity of tone and rare interpretive prowess.” Spending her childhood in Sitka, Alaska, Halie is now based in Eugene, OR. She performed in Newport a few years ago singing in a local wine bar in Nye Beach and later in concert for The Oregon Coast Jazz Party.
Recently returning from touring Japan and a visit to South Korea to promote her latest CD Butterfly Blue, she travels across musical boundaries forging bonds with diverse audiences in North America, Asia, and Europe. Halie is joined by Torrey Newhart the newest addition to her musical entourage, a jazz keyboardist awarded “Most Outstanding Performer in Jazz Studies in 2014 by the University of Oregon.
The INHOUSE JAZZ atmosphere is informal; providing an opportunity for audiences to enjoy an intimate concert, free from the noise and distractions often associated with a restaurant or bar. There is no charge for these sessions, but a donation of $15 – $30 is suggested to help cover concert costs. All funds collected beyond expenses are donated in support of local arts and education. The audience is encouraged to bring their own beverages and potluck treats.
Annie Averre hosts these concerts introducing musicians to the audience. For this concert, Annie and Halie will join together on a few tunes for the audience’s enjoyment. This last INHOUSE Jazz of this season is Sunday September 13 from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Seating is limited. All interested in attending may make a reservation by calling or emailing Annie at 360-606-7136. Directions will be provided with each reservation. email@example.com. http://www.inhousejazz.org/
