All the wildfires around us are throwing mega-tons and mega-tons more carbon into the atmosphere making the Earth’s rendezvous with its destiny (whatever that might be) all the more difficult to imagine. In short, the Earth’s crisis of global warming continues to get worse.
In this article in The Oregonian, scientists say that humankind has already pushed the Earth over the edge in de-stabilizing Earth’s atmosphere – prompting ocean acidification, droughts, heat waves, water shortages where there shouldn’t be, and devastatingly out of control wildland fires. They’re happening all over the world – not just in the U.S.- which makes it a threat to every human being on the planet.
Taking that lead, another group of scientists have been working diligently on figuring out how to remove the carbon dioxide that is already building up in our atmosphere. Some scientists claim it’s already too late. Others contend it’s not too late -yet! And by that they mean, it’s time to vacuum the air – clean it up!! And the good thing is, George Washington University’s chemistry gurus may have actually invented something that can do it.
It’s a process that that sucks in carbon dioxide, and through a simple chemical process, produces carbon fiber materials – a lot of which we’re seeing in the construction of airliners and cars.
Here’s more on what may be the game changer on climate change. Looks to be pretty exciting stuff: Click here.
