A massive house fire is burning at Alder Lane Drive and Maple. The sole occupant of the house got out okay. Toledo Fire & Rescue is calling for more mutual aid from other area fire departments. Of course they’re down some employees as well due to a number of them working to save property and homes in those big Central Oregon Fires around John Day and Canyon City.
At the moment the sparks and embers from the Toledo Fire are falling on neighboring roofs and on lawns. Firefighters are scurrying around, putting more emphasis on saving them since the burning house is a complete loss. There are downed power lines in the area that are still live. So it’s a hellish fire that firefighters are having to confront.

Powerlines are being turned off by the PUD. Soon that whole part of East Toledo will shut down.
Newport Firefighters are on scene joining the firefight.
