Ex-Taft star Pete Lahti, senior Tigers cheerleader Jenna Richards and former Toledo quarterback Jackson Cross were honored Saturday with appearances in the 63rd annual East-West Shrine All-Star Football Game in Baker City. Proceeds benefited the Portland Shriners Hospital for Children.
The plight of sick children, not football, will be the lasting impression former Taft quarterback Pete Lahti will take from the honor of competing Saturday in the 63rd annual East-West Shrine All-Star Football Game at Baker City. “I got to represent Taft again, which was great,” said Lahti, the Class 3A Offensive Player of the Year as a quarterback with the Tigers. “I got to play football at a competitive level. I made a lot of friends that I believe will last a lifetime. Most importantly, though, all of us as a whole helped the kids at the Shriners hospital. Nobody can put a price on that.”
