lcso patch

From Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office

Sunday afternoon at around 5pm, Animal Service Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a dog found deceased in a car in the area of NW 44th Street in Lincoln City. When deputies arrived they found that Otis resident, Bonny K.Grady, 34, had left her dog in her car all day with the windows closed, while at work. The investigation revealed the dog died from heat stress. Grady was issued a citation for Animal Neglect I, a Class A Misdemeanor, with bail set at $15,000.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone about the dangers of leaving pets in a vehicle when outside temperatures are high. Weather and temperatures can change dramatically in a short time frame, creating risk that wasn’t considered initally. A 72 degree day outside can become 116 degrees inside a vehicle within an hour.
