Anyone know the name of this flower? Adam Wechter was going over Cline Hill when this critter snagged his attention. How’s that for a cellphone picture?
Tell us: Dave@NewsLincolnCounty.com
Response: It looks like a Canada Thistle.
Response: Don’t know the real name but we always called it “devil’s club” as in you would cut it at ground level and then you have a club.
Response: Looks like Teasel. Was an imported plant and the heads were used to “tease” wool for spinning.
Response: Thistle indeed, a Honeycomb Thistle to be exact!
I jumped over to Wikipedia and typed in Teasel and sure enough, that’s what it is. Thanks for your response folks. Mystery solved. Another mystery is how Adam Wechter’s cellphone could take that good of a picture. I know people spending big bucks cameras that don’t get photos that good. He says its a new LG type cellphone.
