The Center for Health Education Grand Opening
A Center for Health Education (Center) Open House will be held on Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 740 SW 9th Street in Newport, adjacent to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital.
Newly constructed, the Center will provide a hub for health related activities that help people prevent disease and manage chronic conditions to improve quality of life and lower the cost of health care. Open House attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new facility, learn about planned educational programs and support groups, visit with health education professionals, enjoy healthy cooking demonstrations, and suggest additional programs and support groups.
The facility includes a community resource center, meeting rooms for support groups and health-related classes, skills and computer labs for health care professionals as well as a teaching kitchen.
Owned by the Pacific Communities Health District (District), the Center was designed by local architects Dietmar Goebel and Dustin and Amanda Capri. General contractor Quade Commercial Construction built the Center and used local subcontractors for 80 percent of the project.
The Center was funded through donations to the Pacific Communities Health District Foundation and the District. For more information about the Center, go to samhealth.org/pchdf or call 541-574-4745.
