Siletz Bay Music Festival welcomes world-class talent to local venues through July 5 – tickets still available!
Over 1,000 visitors and residents packed the house in four local venues during the Siletz Bay Music Festival’s first week alone. Thematic, romantic, and expressive classical and jazz pieces have filled the ears of music patrons while seated in close proximity to world-renowned performers like Gerald Robbins, Lorna Griffitt, Ron Arron, Denise Dillenbeck and favorite pianist Mei-Ting Sun. Both free community concerts at the Lincoln City Cultural Center and the Congregational Church of Lincoln City boasted full houses with over 200 people attending each performance.
Lincoln City resident and longtime Festival supporter Alex del Vecchio shared that, “This year I am overwhelmed with the quality of the chamber concerts, though granted, these musicians have always been top notch. I am constantly surprised, though by now I shouldn’t be, that Maestro Yaacov Bergman attracts the best musicians from all over the country. I marvel at how lucky I am to live here and continue to enjoy the consistent quality of these concerts. Bravo Maestro!”
The Festival welcomes Adam Jackson—an 11-year old piano prodigy from New York—who will play Beethoven during Friday’s performance at Salishan at 7:30pm. One last free concert will be hosted at Salishan in the Longhouse on Sunday, July 5 at 11am and will feature The Noisy Intermission and Carnival of the Animals—two pieces geared towards the young and young-at-heart. Noisy Intermission is a narrated childhood story about instruments “coming to life” and working together in harmony will be accompanied by the Festival’s full orchestra and colorful illustrations by local artist Krista Eddy.
And don’t forget to mark your calendar for the Festival’s premiere event of the year: an artists’ showcase and Sinatra showcase on July 5 at 4pm. Tickets are still available to all remaining performances, including a special July 4th celebration! Visit www.siletzbaymusic.org or call 541-992-1131 to buy tickets or get more information.
