What started out as a mere dream of many coastal residents trying to stay healthy, has come true at 740 SW 9th in Newport. A ribbon cutting and dedication of the coast’s new PCH Health Education Center will take place 4pm on July 8th at the facility.
The Health Education Center will focus not so much on what to do when one becomes sick, but rather on what people can do everyday to stay healthy.
The fundraising drive for the center begin in 2005, and well over 2,000 donors made it all happen.
The building is spacious and will contain a large conference room which will, no doubt, be one of the sources of video and/or audio messages to the community on how to live long and vigorous lives.
PCH Chief Executive Officer David Bigelow reports that 90% of all labor and work was done by local contractors. He added that those who would still like to donate to the project can do so by calling 541-574-1810 or 541-574-4745.
