Friday evening the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office, Toledo Police department, Toledo Fire department and PacWest Ambulance were dispatched to a reported vehicle crash on 1000 Line Road near Toledo.
The investigation revealed a 17 year old male driver lost control of the pickup he was driving on the gravel roadway and crashed into a tree. One of the three passengers riding in the bed of pickup was transported by PacWest Ambulance to Samaritan Pacific Communities hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Two additional juvenile passengers and one 18 year old passenger were transported to Toledo Police department and issued Minor in Possession of Alcohol (MIP) citations. The juveniles were later released to their parents.
The driver consented to and successfully passed Standardized Field Sobriety tests. He was issued a criminal citation into the Juvenile Department for Reckless Driving and also cited for MIP. He was released to the custody of his parent.
The cause of the accident is believed to be a combination of driving too fast for road conditions and lack of driver experience.
