The skies over the D-River Wayside Beach may be partially blocked out June 26th due to the flying presence of “The World’s Largest Kite,” a partnership design creation by Gomberg Kites International and renown kite designer Peter Lynn. The two entities will launch the 500 pound flying American Flag kite at the wayside as a promotional event for the Lincoln City Summer Kite Festival to be held there June 27th and 28th.
The kite festival is one of the bigger summer kite events on the Oregon Coast. Getting to the festival is one thing – but finding a parking spot is quite another. That’s why the event organizers remind everyone that they can park at the Tanger Outlet Mall and take a bus shuttle to the event – same from the Community Center and city recreation facility north of the wayside off NE 21st.
Whether the big American Flag flies as an opener for the festival comes with the standard “coast disclaimer,” WEATHER PERMITTING.
