The Oregon Senate has voted overwhelmingly to put tight restrictions on how much medical marijuana growers can cultivate. The vote expressed the concern that without tight restrictions on the number of plants a medical marijuana farmer can grow, some of it would likely wind up in the black market and draw the attention of federal law enforcement. The federal government has said repeatedly that they won’t enforce federal marijuana laws as long as Oregon keeps track of it’s marijuana market so the weed doesn’t wind up in the hands of national or international marijuana cartels and drug rings.
