A sharp-eyed police officer spotted one of two state prison escapees early this morning north of Coos Bay. The Coos Bay Police officer, assisting the county sheriff’s office, discovered Daniel Fullmer at Airport Way and 101, near Lakeside. Fullmer was quickly taken into custody.
Fullmer has a criminal record including auto theft and possession of meth.
The other escaped prisoner, Harlan Brown, was captured later at around 10:30am this morning. Both escaped several days ago by jumping a fence at a nearby minimum security state prison.
Here’s the latest from OSP:
The other inmate who escaped April 26 from Shutter Creek Correctional Institution (SCCI) in North Bend is now in custody in the Coos County Jail. Law enforcement officials arrested Harlan Earl Brown on Monday morning at approximately 10:30am near Coos Bay.
