Free lecture on immigration policies and possibilities – sponsored by Oregon Coast Community College Foundation
This coming Friday, April 24 at 7pm, local author and professor emerita of Spanish, Virginia Gibbs, will present an overview of current immigration policies and laws and how they affect Lincoln County residents. She will examine the relationship between our community values and the policies that guide our actions and attitudes. Since her arrival in Newport, Gibbs has worked extensively with Centro de Ayuda.
The free lecture, will be presented in the Community Room at Central Coast Community College followed by an opportunity for questions from the audience. Please encourage your students, friends and neighbors to attend what promises to be a thought provoking exploration of a most timely topic. This program is offered by the Williams Lecture Series, which is sponsored by the OCCC Foundation.
