The City of Lincoln City has hired Ed Dreistadt as its VCB Director. Mr. Dreistadt will start working for the City on May 1, 2015.
“Lincoln City’s economy is driven by tourism, and our VCB Director plays an important part in bringing tourists to our City” said Ron Chandler, City Manager. “Ed brings a strong marketing and branding background to Lincoln City. I am looking forward to Ed implementing and enhancing the recommendations of our former Interim VCB director, which include making the VCB the local tourism expert, increasing our overnight visitor market and developing the shoulder and off-season tourist markets.”
Mr. Dreistadt will be coming to Lincoln City from Atlanta, Georgia, where he currently manages his own marketing business, Ed Dreistadt & Company, Inc. Mr. Dreistadt’s clients have included the Georgia Council for International Visitors, the Alternative Vehicle Road Show, and Wild Adventures Theme Park. Prior to starting his own business, Mr. Dreistadt worked for Stone Mountain Park in Atlanta as a Director of Strategic Partnerships & Promotions. During his time at Stone Mountain Park, Mr. Dreistadt partnered with companies such as Coca-Cola and General Motors, and also developed events such as the Stone Mountain Gospel Celebration and Cool Car Festival. Mr. Dreistadt has also worked for Busch Entertainment Corporation and was the Executive Committee Chairperson of the Williamsburg, Virginia Convention & Visitors Bureau. He has a Master of Arts in Radio-Television Management and Advertising from Ohio University and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Speech from Westminster College.
