Ivan Sandria-Cruz, 26, has been transported from a trauma center in Corvallis to the Lincoln County Jail in Newport where he was lodged on charges of Manslaughter, Reckless and Drunk Driving in the death of the driver of a car he hit Monday evening. In that car, which was hit head-on, was Andrew Koloski, 35 of Springfield who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Cruz is expected to make his first appearance in court shortly. A manslaughter conviction means over six years in prison. The drunk driving and reckless driving charges could lengthen that sentence considerably depending on whether Cruz has any kind of serious criminal record.
