12:23PM – A vehicle has plunged into the Alsea River from Highway 334 across from 459 E. Aldersprings Road. The driver managed to crawl out before disappearing into the river’s deep waters. Driver contends there is no one else in the vehicle. The vehicle is a Subaru Baja.
12:28PM – Driver ran off a steep drop off across from E. Aldersprings Road, which branches off Canal Creek Road. The male driver is said to be still in the river hanging on to a tree branch.
12:35PM – Driver is now in the back of a Central Coast Fire Rescue Ambulance.
Continues to claim there is no one else in the vehicle.
1:03PM – Driver has now arrived via ambulance at PCH Newport.
