The investigation into an alleged political influence-for-hire scheme involving former Governor John Kitzhaber and his fiancee Cylvia Hayes may now have a sequel over a different kind of issue.
U.S. Attorney Amanda Marshal, who WAS helping to lead the investigation into the Kitzhaber case has herself entered some troubled waters. The Oregonian is reporting that Marshal, who is married, was in a “relationship” with a subordinate, who is also married. Marshal is married to a Yamhill County judge. Federal prosecutor Scott Kerin is married to another prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Marshal recently took an indefinite leave of absence from her post citing medical issues.
