SHIBA Needs Your Talents and Skills
SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance) is seeking volunteers to help serve Medicare recipients throughout Lincoln County. Volunteers are highly needed in Lincoln City and Waldport. Trained volunteer counselors help people in their community understand Medicare insurance choices and their rights through individual counseling, education, and referrals.
Characteristics of a successful SHIBA counselor are people who enjoy helping others, are dependable, understanding, patient, and compassionate. Strong communication and computer skills are important.
Qualified applicants must have no conflict of interest, ability to protect client confidentiality, and the ability to work well alone and in a team environment.
