On February 13th from 6~8pm we will be holding a silent auction at the Newport Church of the Nazarene for Gail Green, a Newport native. Gail was born in Toledo before there was a hospital in Newport. Gail started her working life at the age of 12, delivering the Oregonian in the morning and the Oregon Journal after school. She worked for Mo’s on and off for 27 years. She also worked at Mark’s Market Basket, The Bayhaven Cafe, Lazio’s, Fowlweather Trawl, The Port of Newport and Point Adams Fish Point.
She has given generously of her time to the Read and Feed Program, Celebrate Recovery and VBS. She was also a member of the Newport FisFisherman’s Wives, the Moettes, the Bumbusters, the Nye Beach Nerds, the Bayhaven Bozos and her favorite, the Groundhog Girls.
Gail has been suffering with a debilitating illness and needs our help, so we encourage you to show your support by attending the silent auction in her honor. All proceeds will be presented to this wonderful lady who has given so much of herself and get time to this community that she loves.
