Earlier today the roof collapsed at the Mini Pet Mart at NE Hwy 101 and 14th Street in Lincoln City. Both the Mini Pet Mart and the Zumba Studio, that shares the once Copeland Lumber building, are closed until further notice due to extreme water damage.
Firefighters said the first they heard about it was when somebody called the fire department to report roofing materials were blowing down Highway 101 at 14th.
Fire fighters say damage and daylight can be seen in the backroom from the front window. Individuals at the Zumba Studio are busy cleaning up. Nobody from Pet Mart was at the scene and no one was injured according to the owner of the Zumba Studio.
Heavy rains this morning on the flat portion of the roof is the likely cause of the collapse, since torrential rains were occurring at the time of the event, according to the individuals mopping up at the Zumba Studio.
Power has been turned off to the structure.
More rain and high winds are expected tomorrow.
