KYAQ, Lincoln County’s local public radio station, at 91.7fm, will host a town hall meeting in Newport Wednesday February 18th. The event starts at 6:30pm at the Palladine Studios in the Aquarium Village in Newport’s South Beach area. The public is invited to enjoy live music from local favorite Rick Bartow & the Backseat Drivers, free food & beverages and to join the conversation.
These KYAQ town hall meetings are designed to get the public’s input and ideas to expand local programming. KYAQ board member Bill Hall said, “A community radio station can be such a vital means for people to share issues and ideas directly relevant to them. KYAQ is on the air, but we’re just beginning to roll out local programming. I want to encourage everyone to attend this town hall, learn more, and help shape the future of our community radio station.”
In addition to asking for your thoughts and ideas, these Town Hall meetings will introduce you to the KYAQ board and volunteers, describe KYAQ’s mission, provide information on becoming a member, on underwriting with the station, and other ways that you can be involved.
