Bird abatement project to restrict lanes on Siuslaw River Bridge in Florence
FLORENCE— A project to place netting material designed to keep birds from nesting beneath the concrete spans of the Siuslaw River Bridge, will restrict travel across the bridge to a single lane beginning Monday, January 26th and ending Thursday, January 29th.
A snooper crane will be located in one lane of traffic on the bridge, allowing staff to work beneath the bridge surface.
The work will be conducted 9AM and 3PM. During that time, traffic across the bridge will be controlled by flaggers. Travelers should expect delays no longer than 20 minutes.
The bird abatement project is timed to prevent seasonal nesting that might interfere with a bridge rehabilitation project scheduled for construction later this year. To learn more about the project, visit: www.siuslawbridge.com
