More Tsunami debate on Jordan Cove: Scientists criticize “defensive” design as making things worse during a tsunami
Top Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) transport and storage design experts have come down hard on agencies that appear to be giving the proposed Jordan Cove LNG export facility an easy pass. A couple of scientists, renown for their expertise on preventing LNG facility explosions around the country, decried the fact that a secret private consultant’s evaluation of the Jordan Cove design is not being released to the public. The agencies in charge of reviewing the project are claiming they can’t release it because “it’s private proprietary information.”
That statement popped the cork of credibility in the eyes of Senator Ron Wyden who promised the public in a statement that it’s up to the agencies to properly certify safety issues on the project and he’ll make sure they do that with full public disclosure.
