A car stolen Tuesday evening from a southeast Toledo home was spotted by an alert Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy in Depoe Bay Wednesday.
The deputy, observing strict protocols on stopping a stolen car, called for back-up which he promptly got from Lincoln County Parole and Probation as well as other sheriff’s deputies.
A man and woman were detained for questioning, during which they told the officers they didn’t know the black Honda was stolen but that they could direct officers to the person who let them use it.
A short while later law enforcement corralled accused car thief Marvin Prather of Toledo who was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of auto theft. He also has a no bail hold for probation violation.
