Following an extensive investigation, local authorities Monday swooped down on an apartment in the 35 hundred block of Harbor Drive in south Lincoln City. Armed with a search warrant, they discovered a man and woman, with two young children in the apartment, had drugs in the residence – drugs that investigators claim are for sale and that they deliver them to customers.
Once inside law enforcement from Lincoln City, Newport, Lincoln County Sheriff and Oregon State Police discovered methamphetamine and evidence that Amanda Santini, 26 and Derek Hammons, 32, deliver the drugs in the area, including meth and heroin.
Both Hammons and Santini were booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of manufacture and delivery of meth and heroin and that they do it within 1000 feet of a school. Both Taft Elementary and Taft High Schools are nearby. Both were also charged with child neglect. The children were removed from the house and placed into protective custody.
