Victorian Holiday Celebration at Yaquina Head
Newport, Ore. – The Bureau of Land Management’s Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area will host a Victorian Holiday Celebration Saturday, December 13th. The event encourages visitors to step back in time to relive the 19th century holiday traditions celebrated by the families of Yaquina Head Lighthouse keepers. Admission to the park is free and a 20 percent discount will be given at the Yaquina Head Interpretive Center Store.
The celebration begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Interpretive Center and will continue until 4 p.m. “Visitors can enjoy traditional music, caroling, and Victorian-era crafts while sipping a cup of hot chocolate in a family friendly atmosphere,” said Yaquina Head Manager Tim Fisher.
Throughout the day, families can participate in making Victorian crafts and decorating the tree. Local guest musicians will join in the celebration performing holiday favorites interspersed with community caroling.

11 a.m. Spindrift: Dulcimer, Viola, Guitar
12 p.m. Newport High school Choir
1 p.m. Caroling and sing-along
2 p.m. Mary Beth Nickel- angelic voice, harp, and Native-American flute
3 p.m. Coastalaires Barbershop Chorus- special harmonies and sing-along
