Why I love Waldport – Leslie Hohstadt – The Chocolate Frog
This little community is really amazing! I love the people here. Everyone treats you like your family, or at least a long lost cousin, lol.
There really is quite alot to do here. Doesn’t seem like it at first glance, but just ask anyone and you have enough to keep you busy. Besides the fishing and crabbing (just ask The Interpretive Center), you have like a dozen places to eat. The Hilltop Bistro has great food, pizza at Grand Central, mex at Fresh and Azul’s, awesome chinese food at New China, fried chicken at The Flounder, several home cooked meals at the Moose Lodge, burgers at Chubbies; Vickies and even more at The Salty Dawg, oh I forgot Layzy days cafe has great comfort food!
Lots of shopping too. We have a huge flea market (reminds me of ali baba’s) great consigned clothes at Crescent Moon, Irish outfitting and great hair do’z at Lee’s A Cut Above, and when you visit your gonna love the beautiful handcrafted clothes at Family Fabrics not to mention everything you need for your quilts/sewing/upholstery desires.
We even have a candy store! Chocolate, fudge and taffy (your fave I know!) It’s local and fresh. You know that crazy cute frog in the window? Yep! I got it from The Chocolate Frog, not a Harry Potter there either, lol.
All of our restaurants, shops and gas stations are locally owned, so feels awesome supporting local families instead of big biz of corporate America. I love that they ask “How are you?” And they actually mean it! Yeah – shop local has a whole new meaning. Can’t think of anywhere I would rather live. Hope to see you soon!
Much love from Waldport ♥
Love, Leslie Hohstadt
