Fresh back from a trip to China where President Obama and the Chinese premier agreed to aggressively reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the next 15 years, the Obama administration is now sword fighting with a number of coal mining interests back here at home…interests that have filed suit against the EPA claiming the agency has no right to regulate greenhouse gases coming from coal plants.
And the sword fight is heating up. Oregon has just thrown its support behind the notion that the EPA not only has the right to regulate those gases, it has the duty and legal requirement to do it.
