Toledo Firefighters were rousted out of bed early this morning on a report of an attic fire at 1716 Wagon Road, off Arcadia, just a short distance from the fire hall.
Fire Chief Will Ewing said the homeowner was awakened by popping noises coming from the attic. Firefighters managed to put out the fire rather quickly but in so doing some water found its way down into a lower bedroom. But the house was saved without injury to the homeowner or to firefighters.
The cause is expected to be electric. A fire investigation team in on scene trying to trace the fire back to it’s point of origin.
About $20,000 worth of damage.
