“Toledo Public Library Trees Update”
The community is invited to a public forum held by the staff of the Toledo Public Library, and the Oregon Coast Community Forest Association, to discuss the next steps on what to do with two black walnut trees that have been removed from the front of the library.
Mark Saelens of the OCCFA will share plans for making pieces of the trees available to artists and artisans to promote collaboration between the Library and the OCCFA to market the wood under a local woods brand.
The staff, with architect Wayne Plourde, will discuss the options for redesigning the area in front of the library to create an inviting space for library patrons.
If you have any questions, please contact Deborah Trusty, Director Toledo Public Library at 541-336-3132 or librarydirector@cityoftoledo.org.
