Our Pet of the Week for the week of October 15 is Peggy, a sweet, 6 year old, spayed, female, Brown Tabby cat. Peggy’s story begins over 5 years ago, when she and her 7 kittens were brought in to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. The most prominent thing we noticed about Peggy, besides her big, beautiful eyes, was her missing left, rear foot! The leg had long since healed, so the nature of her injury is a mystery. What we do know is that it doesn’t slow her down a bit! After all of her babies had been adopted, Peggy was finally adopted into a new, loving home where she has spent the last 5 years.
Unfortunately, her new family’s situation changed and they could no longer keep their beloved pets. So Peggy has come back to us, a little older, a little wiser, and little chubbier:)
Although Peggy is happy to see us all again, she’s not keen on spending too much more time with us here at the shelter. She is looking for a wonderful new indoor home where she can settle back in to being the perfect house cat!
You can name your own adoption fee (no less than $10) for Peggy, or any of our wonderful cats! All kitty adoptions include a vet visit (generously supplied by our local veterinarians), microchip, and vaccinations, as well as a free bag of food courtesy of The Feed Corral. Please contact the shelter to find out if the animal you want is still available.
Please come and visit all the animals at your Lincoln County Animal Shelter, located at 510 NE Harney St. in Newport (just east of the Fairgrounds). Hours are: Tuesday through Saturday from 12pm until 5pm. You can also see all of our available animals on our website at www.LincolnCountyAnimalShelter.org
