Lincoln City residents might find this story kind of interesting in that it strongly suggests that their private power company, PacifiCorp (Pacific Power) may be betting on the wrong horse as the country moves into a new green energy age. With the growth of wind, solar and geothermal, many are questioning PacifiCorp’s seemingly unwavering loyalty to fossil fuels – namely, natural gas. Major studies now claim that burning natural gas for power is just about as bad for the atmosphere as burning coal. But PacifiCorp appears none-the-less ready to maintain their dependency on fossil fuels.
