Although they were wrongly singled out as a possible source of what took the life of 4 year old Serena Profitt last month from E coli poisoning, the owners of the Roadhouse 18 restaurant on Highway 18 are conducting a benefit dinner for the little girl’s family.
The fundraiser meal is being held from 2 to 7pm today, Saturday, at the Roadhouse Bar and Grill on Highway 18 at Rose Lodge. Dinner includes Taco Noodles, salad, garlic bread and ice cream.
All proceeds will be given to Serena’s parents, Rachel and Steve to help with the medical costs of trying to keep Serena alive. By the time she arrived in a Portland trauma center, too much time had elapsed which allowed the E coli bacteria enough time to do its deadly work. The family contends physicians in Lincoln City misdiagnosed her medical emergency as a common childhood stomach disorder.
