Lincoln County authorities ask if there are others that have been affected by their relationship with Quentin Stanhope?
Lincoln County Sheriff Investigators are again advising local businesses and individuals who either worked with or who might have employed an accused fraudster to check their finances and make sure that they’re all in good shape. Detectives ask that if you find anything out of place or missing, to please call them at the Sheriff’s Office at 541-265-4277, ext 0668. Gerard Beaudoin, aka Quentin Stanhope, has been moving about the country over the past ten years and up to no good, according to authorities. His professional, non-profit and other relationships with many people and businesses are all under a microscope. If you suspect you’ve been hurt by Mr. Beaudoins’ alleged illicit behavior, call that number.
Beaudoins is thought to be originally from New England, moved to Florida, then to New Orleans. In New Orleans there is a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a fraud case there. He’s been hiding out from authorities for nearly 15 years on those charges according to investigators. He surfaced in Lincoln County perhaps six to eight years ago and has been accepted by the community – becoming a high ranking member of his church, active in non-profits groups and is listed as the proprietor of Q-Tax Services based in Lincoln City but with affiliate offices elsewhere in the county. One of his clients was the city of Lincoln City Finance Department which employed his firm to do quality checks on tourist room tax collections on behalf of the city. City officials say Beaudoin never touched that tax money – he only verified or questioned numbers. The city is not missing any money.
Beaudoin is being held on $1.7 million dollars at the Lincoln County Jail on numerous criminal counts and for being a fugitive from justice out of New Orleans and neighboring communities.
