DEVILS LAKE MANAGER TO PRESENT AT CHAMBER LUNCH FORUM
Paul Robertson, Lake Manager with the Devils Lake Water Improvement District, is the guest speaker at the upcoming Chamber of Commerce Lunch Forum on Tuesday, September 23rd, at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City. This luncheon is sponsored by the Chinook Winds Celebration of Honor.
The presentation titled, 100 Year History of Devils Lake, In Brief, will be an annotated version of the development and settlement patterns of the watershed surrounding Devils Lake and the effects of cultural eutrophication (human influenced nutrient enrichment) of the lake during the last century.
Attendees will see aerial photographs that in conjunction with lake sediment core data tell the legacy of Devils Lake. Robertson will also speak about lake management strategies which seek to mitigate for and reduce the human derived impacts while in some cases also dealing with the symptoms of a degraded lake by harmful algal blooms.

He obtained two associate degrees through Oregon Coast Community College before pursuing further education at the University of Vermont where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science with a Chemistry Emphasis.
