A Eugene man on parole for Robbery led Toledo Police on a vehicle chase Friday night that left him and a female passenger injured and in the hospital.
Toledo Police say Casey Loving, 26, was driving around suspiciously on Northwest French Drive in Toledo late last evening. He was spotted by a police officer, but instead of stopping he took off at high speed. The officer pursued Loving’s Jeep toward Dundon and then onto Business 20. He then roared up Lincoln Way where he quickly crashed the Jeep. Both he and his female passenger were injured.
Police say Loving took off running and disappeared into the night. Arriving police found the female passenger injured, called for medics and they transported her to Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport.
Meanwhile Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies and Newport Police arrived to continue the search for Loving. Loving was eventually located at or near 506 Skyline Drive where he was taken into custody. He too was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
When he’s able to be incarcerated at the Lincoln County Jail, police say Loving will be booked for felony drunk driving, felony eluding police, misdemeanor eluding, reckless driving, reckless endangering (other motorist as he raced around town) hit and run with injuries and property damage and assault.
A little later, police were called to PCH on a report that Loving’s female passenger, Justina Redfearn, became violent in the emergency room and fought with medical personnel. Police were called and they settled things down and hospital staff finished their treatment of her injuries. Newport Police then hauled her off to jail. Redfearn was booked on charges of strangulation, harrassment and disorderly conduct. She’s being held on $80,000 bail.
