Sheriff Dennis Dotson would like to invite citizens to view the newly remodeled Corrections Health unit and Food Service area. Neither of these areas had undergone major remodels since the opening of the jail in 1992.
Over the years, the medical unit was cited as being too small to handle the number of inmates the jail holds (161). The remodel resulted in larger, more secure work space, lab and exam areas. It has also allowed the relocation of the Jail Mental Health Counselor to the same area for more efficient continuity of care.
Upon opening the jail in 1992, the jail kitchen was very functional, but the years of constant daily use brought on slippery floors, rust, and equipment repairs.
Refreshments will be provided upon completion of the tour.
