The Fall Chinook Salmon run is underway, when adult fish are spawning up the Salmon River and its tributaries after years at sea. Come welcome them home with the Westwind Stewardship Group (WSG) and its community partners!
Activities begin at 1pm Sunday afternoon, September 14th. Meet at Knight Park just off of Three Rocks Road. All activities end at 5pm, but there will be boat tours/shuttles leaving Knight Park at 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 4:30pm and 5pm.
Activities at Westwind include:
● Boat Tours of Salmon River Estuary ● Classes on the Salmon Cycle
● Beach Games
● Open Fire Salmon Bake
● Native American Salmon Weir
All ages welcome. Prepare to be outside and walking in sand (weather should be nice, but it can get windy).
$10 suggested donation to the Westwind Stewardship Group, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation, so all donations are tax deductible.
