The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Lincoln County, in effect from noon tomorrow (Thursday) through Saturday at 11:00pm. During this period, dry fuels, low relative humidity, warm east winds and an unstable atmosphere could quickly add up to wildfire. If ignited, fires under these conditions can spread explosively through ground cover, brush and trees. Be overly and overtly careful with campfires, burn piles, fireworks, smoking, and all other sources of ignition until the weather changes and the warning is canceled. Looking at the latest forecasts, it appears cooler weather, higher humidity and onshore winds will return by early Sunday to lessen the danger.
