North Lincoln Fire is racing to the end of NW 50th on a report of a belly board surfer being swept offshore by a strong rip current. Units are beginning to mobilize just west and north of Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
The boogy border is now out several hundred yards, perhaps approaching a quarter mile offshore. Fire Rescue is launching jet skis. Ocean conditions are quite good. The surfer seems to know that fire rescue is coming out for him.
Jet ski team has raced out to the victim and is preparing to “scoop him up” and return him to shore.
Ski team has victim back on the beach. Ambulance crew to check him out.
Preparing to load jet skis back onto their trailer.
