“CELEBRATE THE FAMILY” POTLUCK DINNERS
Family Promise of Lincoln County is inviting churches and community groups to join in a community fundraiser by hosting potlucks in the community to benefit homeless families and children. Each group holds their potluck on Sunday, September 28th and invites their congregation, neighbors, friends and family to join them. The idea is to spend time together and help homeless families at the same time.
All donations collected will help Family Promise of Lincoln County provide shelter, meals and comprehensive assistance to homeless and low income families with children achieve sustainable, independent living.
“We are hoping to unite as one community, share a meal with the community and help families with children regain their housing and independence through this potluck program” says Connett. “This should be a fun way for our partners and others in our community to spend time together and also help this family-oriented program.”
Since June, Family Promise of Lincoln County has been about shelter and support for homeless families with children. The board and staff are excited to be in operation and able to provide a refuge to families in need. “We are grateful for the support of the community. We could not have gotten here without it,” shares Hanna Connett, President of Family Promise of Lincoln County. “As school starts and the weather gets colder, the situations will become more dire. We need your support now more than ever, to enable us to continue serving the families.”
