Depoe Bay put on a musically driven good ole fashioned barbecue celebration and re-dedication of Depoe Bay City Park this week. Bill Spore took the microphone early to chronicle the evolution of the park from volunteers clearing out a space for picnics all the way up to modern day complete with a new bridge across the creek, a covered picnic shelter, full kids playground, a veterans memorial and nature trail back up behind the city.
Here’s some picture highlights of the fun time that was had by all from city dignitaries to the Coast Guard contingent, Representative David Gomberg, County Commission Chairman Terry Thompson to kids just wanting to have fun on the playground. And that wonderful barbecue and formal ribbon cutting of the new bridge. A sweeter hometown dedication you’ll never find.
