Oracle Corporation has beaten Oregon to the punch, launching a major lawsuit against the state before the State Attorney General’s Office could launch a long expected state lawsuit against Oracle.
In their $23 million dollar claim, Oracle contends that the problem was caused by the state putting incompetent people in charge of managing the project. Oracle claims it was doing the best it could under the circumstances but that the state’s oversight was unworkable. Yet, Oracle claims, they stuck with it.
A spokesman for Governor John Kitzhaber said it wasn’t the state’s fault the computerized Cover Oregon sign up project didn’t work, it was Oracle’s failure to perform that made it inadequate to get the job done.
