Lincoln City, OR – The Oregon Coast Pride Festival returns to celebrate LGBT community and history on Friday, September 5th through Sunday the 7th. Join in on this colorful weekend of events and pride celebration sponsored by Chinook Winds Casino Resort, the Liberty Inn, the Lincoln City Cultural Center, and Macadangdangs Reefside Bar and Grill.
New to this year’s festival is the Blessings Ceremony Wedding Chapel, made possible by the recent ruling in May making same sex marriage legal in Oregon. For the first time, couples attending the weekend’s events can get married on the Oregon Coast. Marriage licenses must be filed in advanced, as there is a waiting period. To learn more, contact Brian at 503-432-1406.
Starting Friday, September 5th, at 5pm attendees can meet and greet the Oregon Coast Pride Board of Directors and volunteers at the Lincoln City Cultural Center.
From 5pm to 10pm there will be a drag show featuring talent from Tacoma, Washington as well as music, food, and vendors. On Saturday morning, September 6th, at 8am the Dykes on Bikes and Allies group will start their trademark ride through town at Macadangdangs Reefside Bar and Grill. Join the group for breakfast before the ride, and then head over to the Cultural Center at 10am for a whole day of pride fun!
From 6pm to 10pm, the Caravan of Glam, a queer cabaret show, at the Cultural Center will bring fabulous entertainment for adults only, including special guest emceeing by Fabulanzaa! Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday, the 7th is Flamingo Bingo at Chinook Winds Casino Resort from 11am to 2pm. Doors open at 10am, with a $10 buy-in.
The Oregon Coast Pride Board suggests a $7 donation, which will include attendance to all weekend events. No one will be turned away. For more information, call 541-992-5353 or visit www.oregoncoastpride.com
