On behalf of DHS Child Welfare Newport and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians Indian Child Welfare, I would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who helped us put on the Foster Parent Appreciation Picnic to show our support for Lincoln County foster parents!
Foster parents provide children with a safe, caring, temporary home when their parents are unable to care for them. The Foster Parent Appreciation Picnic is one way in which we at Child Welfare say thank you to foster parents for everything that you do for the children in our community. Thank you to all of the local businesses that donated gifts for foster parent prizes, discounted services, or cash donations for the picnic. We could not have had such a fun and successful event without the support from Arctic Circle, Beachtown Coffee, Bigfoot Beverage, Café Stephanie, Chalet, Charisma Gifts, Chinook Winds Casino, Chowder Bowl, Cobblestone Pizza, Franz Bakery Outlet, Fred Meyer, Gallucci’s Pizza, Gary Herd, Illingworth’s, JC Market-Newport, McDonalds, Nana’s Irish Pub, Newport Rental Services, Nursery Connection, Oregon Coastal Quilters Guild, Pacific Grind Café, Piller Plastics, ProBuild, Rick Olson, Roby’s Furniture & Appliances, Stone Crest Cellars, Sunwest Honda, T&L Septic & Chemical Toilet Service, The Honey Store, and Tu Tu Tu Kitchenware Cottage.
Thank you to the Lincoln County Sherriff’s Office for the vehicle and boat tours and for making us Junior Deputies, and to the Siletz Valley Fire Department for providing fire truck tours. Always a big hit! I would like to extend a special thank you to the Lincoln County Foster Parent Association, CASA of Lincoln County, and CTSI Indian Child Welfare for your support and partnership during this event. Thank you all for supporting Lincoln County foster children and foster families! For more information about foster care, check out fosterORadopt.com.
